Saving Chipmunk!!!! Please help!!!! only 12!?

Me and my 3 friends were running for cross country practice and we found a chipmunk ';half dead';. We noticed that it couldn't move it's back legs, only its paws. We want to help it a lot!! What we did was we put it on my little jacket and we brought it back to my house and borrowed a cage from someone and put a lot of grass in it for the chipmunk.

We got it some water. We don't really know what kind of food to get it. We got these little red hard berries and put it in there and found 1 acorn. We don't know what else! Please help! We also don't know how we can help it with it's back legs!! We are almost positive that it fell out of the tree that we were under or it got hit by a car!!!

Please help!!!! We are only 12 years old and we called this Animal service and they said they would ';put it out of its misery'; but we KNOW it can survive!! I LOVE animals!!!!!

Thank you SOOO much!!!!!Saving Chipmunk!!!! Please help!!!! only 12!?
yeah if animal services wont help then there's not much else to do. You can keep as comfortable as possible and look up things that chipmunks usually like, or you could take it to a vet although that option might be a little expensive, good luck though i hope it's alright.Saving Chipmunk!!!! Sweetie, you need to let animal services handle it. The poor thing is probably in horrible pain, The RIGHT thing to do is put it down.
I love how you are trying to help out this poor, injured creature.

You can try feeding it more berries, maybe some carrots.

Once he gets better and gets use to you you can teach it tricks! http://www.ehow.com/how_2059639_teach-pe鈥?/a>

You might want to find a vet for his legs. If not try to keep it in a cast to heal.

Good Luck!
did you take it to the vet? just google how to care for a chipmunk! dont let them kill it!
sorry sweetie. I'm 23 and i've been through this stuff alot. including chipmunks. when they can't move their back legs, their backs have been broken. when their backs have been broken, they have internal injuries. the best thing you can do for it is take it to a vets office or the animal service you called and ask to have it put down. i can tell you are soft hearted and have alot of compassion. if you don't put it down, it will still die. keep that compasion alive though. the world needs it.

if you really really want to still try helping it. offer it soft food like apple baby food. and offer it water through an eyedropper. the chances of it makeing are incredibly low though and i wouldn't advise it.
Usually, animals in the wild after in contact with humans die sadly, if its paralyzed from the legs down it won't be able to survive, the best thing to do is make it comfortable, and let it be quiet...
The little guy is seriously injured, and I know you have best intrestat heart but your just causing him more and more pain. If a small animal like that has broken it's back legs it probably broke it's back and cannot survive in the wild or function whatso ever. Sometimes the best thing you can do is take him to the vet and let him be put down. At least he would not be hurting anymore because he isn't going to eat/drink/go potty or anything. He will just sit there and slowly and painfully die. I love animals with all my heart to but sometimes you have to look at it and say it is the best thing for him...
look in the yellowpages for the neares ';Wildlife Waystation'; -- they're in most cities, usually for cat maulings of creatures and such.

If you can't find one, ask a Vetrinarian.

Good Luck,
